IO-te-Waiwheta
The Universal Harmonic Field
IO-te-Waiwheta is not a model to be believed. It is a pattern to be observed – the universal harmonic field, explored through ngā ngaru o te Ao, ngā au ora and Te Pūtahitanga o te Ira, each one meeting IO-te-Waiwheta at a different depth.
Whakarāpopototanga
How to enter this wānanga
Drop a stone into still water and watch.
It does not fly and it does not hurry. It enters at the surface, where everything can be seen. It sinks through the deep, where nothing can be seen. It comes to rest at the bottom, where nothing needs to be seen.
Enter this wānanga the way the stone sinks. Begin at the surface with the sixteen tides, sink through the eight frequencies, and come to rest in the four, the foundation of being.
- Mātaki – observe before you touch; watch where movement gathers, holds or spirals.
- Kori – introduce the smallest movement that lets the water turn.
- Rongo – listen for what was already sounding before the listening began.
Gravity is the teacher here. You do not climb toward understanding in IO-te-Waiwheta – you sink toward it.
Ngā Wāhanga - The Three Depths
Ngā Ngaru o te Ao
The Sixteen Tides. Begin at the surface – the movements the world washes against you, the weather arriving from without.
Ngā Au Ora
The Eight Frequencies. Sink deeper – the sounds unity makes within you; not weather, but what was already sounding.
Te Pūtahitanga o te Ira
The Four Foundations. Come to rest – the ground every movement is made of, present in every moment, at every scale.
Ngā Wāhanga o te Wānanga
Each section opens like water - one at a time.
Ngā Mihi me ngā Karakia - Acknowledgements & Incantations
The opening of the wānanga: Ngā Mihi, He Karakia o Tākitimu and Te Takutaku o te Waiwheta, the descent.
Mauri tū, mauri ora, mauri aroha.
Te Tīmatanga - The Living Field
IO-te-Waiwheta is the universal harmonic field, explored through ngā ngaru o te Ao, ngā au ora and Te Pūtahitanga o te Ira, each one IO-te-Waiwheta meets at a different depth.
Here too are Ngā Kaiako Nui, the two great teachers, Hine-moana and Tangaroa, and Te Whānau o ngā Wai, the family of waters.

Te Taka o te Kōwhatu - How to Enter This Wānanga
Drop a stone into still water and watch. It does not fly and it does not hurry. It enters at the surface, where everything can be seen. It sinks through the deep, where nothing can be seen. It comes to rest at the bottom, where nothing needs to be seen.
With Te Ao Tauira, the universal pattern, and Te Kaituku, the conduit.
Ngā Ngaru o te Ao - The Sixteen Tides
Ngā ngaru o te Ao. Te taunekeneke ki te pū o te ngākau, e whakapiki ana, e whakapōkarekare ana rānei i te mara kotahitanga, e ai ki te marama me te manawa.

Ngā Au Ora - The Eight Living Frequencies
The living frequencies that express the state of unity through the waters of existence. They ask nothing of the learner but the willingness to listen for what was already sounding before the listening began.

Te Pūtahitanga o te Ira - The Four Foundations · The One

Ngā Kūwaha o Ngā Rangi - The Heavenly Gateways within the Body
Twelve Rangi become the principal gateways where universal movement is recognised within the human body. They are not pressure points. They are not chakra. They are not energy centres. They are places where universal movement becomes observable, the way a headland or a river-mouth is a place where the ocean’s movement becomes visible to anyone standing there.
Te Tau Whakahoki me Ngā Mahi - Restoration & Practical Work
Healing is never described as fixing, because nothing here is broken.
Every practical exercise begins with recognising movement. Nothing is introduced until the movement has been seen.
Tihei Mauri Ora
The descent does not take you to unity.
It shows you that you were never outside it.
